Tension can really kill.
Once again, my heart shatters following the defeat of Jia Wei today.
She shouldn't have lost. Really. She was leading all the way. There was even a game where she scored 11-0. It's a waste. At the last game (game 7), both of them were competing point for point. I can really feel the tension over there. It was so scary. All of us at home were glued to the screen for that 1 hour. There were of course cheers and silent prayers shooting out of our mouths, just clinging on to the hope that the silver medal will belong to Singapore. Alas, our hope dashed when Korea scored their match point. 11-9. Everything was over.
Jiawei did well. Although the results didn't turn out the way we wanted, her fight against Korea was commendable. Well done, Jiawei. No matter what, Singapore still has her hope of a bronze medal after 44 years of waiting. Let's all work towards that.
Jiawei, you can do it. Jiayou. We are all behind you. Go for it girl! To all, let's pray for this miracle to happen and for Jiawei to stand proudly on the rostrum tomorrow, with the bronze medal glistening around her neck. Let's all keep up the Singapore spirit!
